Arts, Crafts and a little Engineering on the side
Founded in November 2022, Sruthan (Gaelic for little river) sets out to capture life's memorable moments. Our mission is to create keepsakes that you will treasure for years to come.
Sruthan is a small family-run business based in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. Founder Terry McGill, along with his wife Robin, their three children, their spouses, and grand children, bring to life the ideas and creations you see on this site.
Terry is the primary craftsman, recently retired after 43 years of working on submarines as a mechanical engineer with a focus in computer science. He was a budding artist when he was younger, even winning an occasional award for his art. Now he is on to bigger and better things... and what better than to rekindle that artistic fervor of a much younger man!
Well... that's not as easy as one would think!
Terry, is above all, an engineer at heart who enjoys learning, applying old and new technologies to art, and the items he helps to create or produce.
Robin was a radiographer in the distant past and has an eye for photography. She is a cancer survivor, having undergone a bone marrow transplant 32 years ago (and counting). More importantly, she is a Mom and Mémère of three and three. Her passion isn't necessarily Sruthan, but wholly lies with the grandchildren.
We attend local Rhode Island Fairs including: Matunuck Stroll, Charlestown Holiday Fair, Pettaquamscutt Lake Shores Holiday Fair, and St. Francis Church Bazaar. We have met with world acclaim! OK... some people liked our stuff and purchased it.
